Tic tac windows are very, very long games: in fact, you pay for the registration once, you get in the queue, and then you have to validate your position day after day.

This way, every day that this validation is done, you earn a place in the queue. If you do not validate once, you get out of the queue and your basic registration is refunded!

So when you get into a queue and you see yourself at 365th in the queue, it will take you a full year of validations every day to reach first place. In reality, it will probably be less so since it is very difficult to be so faithful (holidays, absences...) and therefore many places become available.
